Pertemuan yang melibatkan 17 negara di Asia-Pasifik tersebut, Polri berbagi ilmu terkait layanan forensik di Indonesia. Selain itu, melalui pertemuan internasional ini dalam rangka membangun hubungan antar negara sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas layanan forensik di Asia-Pasifik.
Dalam sambutannya, Kabaharkam menuturkan bahwa pemeriksaan forensik dibutuhkan oleh penegak hukum guna menjadi alat bukti untuk pembuktian kebenaran di pengadilan.
“Hal ini akan menjadi sarana pembaharuan terhadap perkembangan teknologi, teknis dan taktis yang lebih canggih dalam bidang forensik untuk mengimbangi perkembangan modus kejahatan dimensi baru yang semakin sulit, semakin canggih, dan semakin cepat,” jelas Kabaharkam Polri. (f).
