Kegiatan ini dipimpin Ketua Komisi VII DPR RI Sugeng Suparwoto dan dihadiri Anggota Komisi VII DPR RI Gandung Pardiman, Iwan Kurniawan, Gubernur DIY diwakili Staf Ahli Gubernur DIY Bidang Hukum, Politik dan Pemerintahan, Wakil Rektor UGM, Dekan Fakultas Teknik UGM, Dirjen EBTKE Kementerian ESDM, Direksi PT PLN (Persero) dan Direksi PT Antam, Tbk.
Sugeng Suparwoto dalam sambutannya menegaskan bahwa diperkirakan energi fosil kita akan habis sekitar 11 tahun lagi jika tidak ditemukan sumber baru. Untuk itu RUU EBET menjadi penting untuk segera diselesaikan agar bisa menjadi solusi para stake holder dalam mengembangkan energi baru dan energi terbarukan.
“Gas alam kita melimpah namun infrastruktur belum memadai sehingga kita masih impor LPG. Sedangkan cadangan batubara diperkirakan sekitar 38 miliar matrik ton dimana PLN selama ini konsumsinya sekitar 142 juta ton batubara pertahun. Problem energi secara kuantitatif saja sudah bermasalah, apalagi secara kualitatif. Kita harus segera masuk ke EBET agar target tahun 2060 net zero carbon bisa tercapai,” tandasnya. (f).
