Banten, POROSNEWS.ID – Taekwondo tahun 2022 yang berlangsung di Tangerang, Banten, dimana dua atlet Gorontalo berhasil meraih medali pada Kejuaraan Nasional (Kejurnas) dipersembahkan oleh Al Alim Adam dan perak diraih oleh Muhammad Ikbal Mootalu.
Kejurnas itu kami membawa lima atlet, dan alhamdulillah dua atlet berhasil meraih medali, jelas pelatih taekwondo, Januar Lahay, saat diwawancarai pada pembukaan Pekan Olahraga Provinsi (Porprov) Gorontalo di GOR Nani Wartabone, Kota Gorontalo, Selasa (20/12/2022).
Pelatih Taekwondo, Januar Lahay menyampaikan, berdasarkan Kejurwil di Makassar, sedianya Gorontalo berhak mengirimkan 12 atlet ke Kejurnas 2022, tapi karena keterbatasan anggaran, sehingga hanya dapat mengirimkan lima atlet yang diikutsertakan.
“Keduanya adalah atlet junior PPLP Gorontalo, medali emas dari kelas di bawah 55 kilogram dan perak untuk kelas di bawah 48 kilogram. Mereka juga akan tampil pada Porprov, masing-masing mewakili Kota Gorontalo dan Kabupaten Gorontalo,” ungkap Januar Lahay.
Lanjut pelatih taekwondo Januar Lahay, kedua atlet peraih medali pada Kejurnas itu akan dipersiapkan untuk mengikuti Pra PON tahun 2023, dan Gorontalo menyiapkan 10 atlet taekwondo. (f).
